Idaho Paypal Robbery Suspect Arrested

Paypal lendershave had a rough time all around the country. Not only have they been suffering from votes that cap the interest rates that they are allowed to charge but the stores have been frequently robbed all around the country. In Sandpoint, Idaho, a man was arrested on Wednesday after he robbed a payday loan office at knife point the week before. The suspect was Steven Lee Keller. He robbed the Sandpoint Title & Payday Loans store of which he was a frequent payday loan borrower.

Keller’s first appearance was made on Wednesday afternoon in a magistrate court. He is being held on $50,000 bail and a public defender was appointed to him. Prosecuters are gearing up for a hearing to see whether or not Keller should be held on felony charges. If he is convicted of robbery he can serve at least 5 years in prison, in Idaho, according to state law. Keller denied robbing the store as police found him in a casino and offered an alibi. Nevertheless, the police have video footage that debunk Keller’s alibi.

Keller was unable to afford a lawyer. He is in debt for $575 with a title loan and $600 in debt for a quick cash loan.

During the robbery, Keller used a bandanna, dark glasses and a hooded sweatshirt in the attempt to protect his identity from being discovered. Unfortunately, since Keller had been a frequent borrower, the manager immediately recognized Keller by his voice. The cash teller was told to open the cash drawer in which he took about $200.
